Researchers have shown that a link between long standing gum disease and the risk

of tongue cancer exists. Frightenly 50% of the adult population has signs of early

This study , from the University of Buffalo, Suggests that the risk of tongue cancer

is increased 5 fold with every millimeter of bone loss due to gum disease.
